  1. Hey guys!! You probably don't recognize my name, I changed it to our YouTube channel name!! I finally started a channel!! I love your videos and that just like us y'all should I'll do it even while working full-time jobs!! ❤

  2. To prevent bunnies and deer, i recommend a motion activated sprinkler like Orbit. I had one for 2 years and it works great

  3. It’s still trial and erra..for ya and also me .. but for me, it’s about placement where things need to be placed. I need a few more beds. I think some things grow better by themselves like carrots carrots grow better by themselves garlic grow better by itself of course potatoes soon, but I am going to bed of peppers next year and then put everything else somewhere else like cucumbers and all that so I’m gonna get a few more beds built and it’s still working progress but I’ve gotten better. I did so many I did about 30 jars of pickles, refrigerator, pickles, and fresh eating as well. I still got a few growing watermelon we’ve already picked a few, and I have already started second succession of cucumber

  4. I think you need to readjust and re-work out a plan. I’m thinking you can do a Hoop house or you can grow indoors under like a tunnel but smaller I’ve been seeing people you can look up hoop houses being built. There’s a lot of people building their own and look really great and your husband is quite the handyman.🌱🌱🌱🌱

  5. I love all them peppers out of your Best pepper plant maybe say five when winter comes up pot them and repot them in a container we can bring them in for the winter and then next spring them back out or leave them in a container and you’ll get peppers before those ceilings even start. I have a four year Old banana pepper that is massive and I also have bell peppers that are doing really well but I’m going to be doing plants too over winter them 🌶️🫑

  6. Just a thought for your beans. A chicken wire tunnel would keep both bunnies and deer from eating your plants. Cheaper than a fence and you'd be able to reuse it next year.

  7. Thank you! Some friends and I are seeing tomato rot! I ended up spraying the plants! It is too soon to see what happens!

  8. I'm so sorry about your trouble with the dear and bunnies, they sure can be relentless, especially on dry years when your garden is a beautiful buffet. Could you invest a a couple of strands of electric fencing for now? maybe wouldn't do much against the bunnies but it may keep the deer out.

  9. So amazing how much garden you two are keeping up with and still working full time jobs! Great garden tour! Blessings on your homestead and your growing season Kiddos!🌻🐛🌿💚🙏💕

  10. The only thing besides a fence that has ever kept deer and rabbits out of my garden was a motion activated sprinkler. The only problem was, they set it off so frequently that I had to change the batteries almost daily, and the garden was always soaked. I used rechargeable batteries, but by the end of summer, the batteries were worn out. Now I have a fence made with hog panels, and that works well. The deer don’t jump over it because the fenced area is narrow, and they don’t like jumping between fences that close together. The bottom wires of the fence are close enough together to keep the rabbits out.

  11. You’re both doing great & gardening is trial & weather! I set up criss crossing of fish line tied to 6 foot garden posts & it deters the deer from walking & munching but they have gotten to my pea plant tops but not destroy every thing, like last year. Blessings 🤗🇨🇦

  12. It is a great garden, and thanks for the tour. I’ve had some luck with a blight resistant tomato called crimson crush…also available as a cocktail (cherry) tomato variety too.

  13. a little suggestion for the next growing season is that you make a tunnel greenhouse and grow tomatoes and cucumbers, melons and peppers in it, which protects the plants from the rain❤❤❤

  14. I protect my legumes from deer with insect netting….no hoops. Seems to work so far. The battle with critters is becoming more problematic each year.

  15. You can indeed plant carrot seeds that don’t require a lot of fuss. Plant the seeds then lay a board directly on top of them. The board helps them to have constant contact with the soil, which they need, and it helps to keep moisture in. Just make sure to check on them daily and lift the board off as soon as they sprout. It has worked beautifully for me. Good luck!

  16. Sorry you feel your garden is struggling this year but it is still a success because you are getting stuff out of it and you are learning.

  17. When my tomatoes get 18 inches tall, I trim the bottom 10 inches of branches off. When they get 2 ft tall, I trim up to a foot from the ground. That seems to give a bunch of air circulation and keeps the soil from splashing on the leaves.

  18. If you don't want to do fencing (or until you can do the fencing) you could try bone sauce by Billy at Perma Pastures Farm. He is there in NC with you guys.
