  1. Hey everyone!!

I’ve recently moved to a new rental on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. We have a beautiful backyard, but I have no idea how to garden or maintain it.

Would love any help on how to garden these areas in the photos, Or even how to identify what these are so I can get researching

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Looks like a lovely place. Congrats!

    A few general thoughts:

    1. It’s the perfect time. Use the next month to understand the plants and the property. Google will help you ID them. Or join a gardening club if you have time. Then clear out any weeds or undergrowth before summer. It will be much, much easier to manage if you get the place in decent shape before it warms up.

    2. Best time to clear out any plants you don’t need is after a decent rain. If you can stand the cold, get outside after a decent rain and anything you don’t want will come up much easier.

    3. Be mindful of snakes (especially in summer). Maybe ask your neighbours about their experience.

    4. Is there a risk of bushfires near you? If so, you may want to think about foliage close to your house and leaves in your gutters, and prune accordingly. Not sure who has responsibility for it, given your renting.

    Enjoy the place. Looks amazing!
    (EDIT formatting and a word)

  3. Stunning garden, looks like a mammoth of a project to maintain though
