MIgardener: We Are Growing Artichokes With EASE! #gardening #garden #shorts

  1. I grew one last season, it didn’t winter over unfortunately. I had it in a container and apparently to winter them over here in Massachusetts they should be planted in the ground. I was so excited last year that I harvested a lone artichoke!

  2. Wow, that's incredible! I started some about the same time, but waited waaay too long to transplant. Like literally a few weeks ago. They are maybe 8" tall so far, but they don't seem sick or anything. Maybe we'll get some by late fall? If nothing else, they'll be set for next year.

  3. My favorite vegetable! I cut off the stems and the top 1/2 inch of the artichokes, put a few squirts of Wishbone Italian salad dressing to the boiling water and to the center of the artichoke. Boil covered on medium heat until tender – about 45-60 minutes. Make sure it doesn't boil dry. Then I like to make a dip of a 50/50 mix of mayonnaise and a good blue cheese dressing. Optional: Add a few blue cheese crumbles to the dip if you love blue cheese. It is the best!!! 😋

  4. I have been trying to grow these for 5 straight years in western NY and have not had any success. I'm going to try again. Will they come back in a container?
