Fiddle Leaf Fig

FLF dies down into a stick after 5 years

I bought this FLF in February of 2020. Now, in 2024 it became a stick. I decided to try to propagate it and try to keep it going for another 5 years 🤞🏽

This FLF survived 5 moves with me and holds sentimental value to me. In late June of 2024 I cut a portion and placed in a mason jar under a grow light. After a couple of weeks I decided to buy some rooting hormone to help expedite the process.

Once I saw signs of rooting, I decided to buy super thrive a couple of weeks later to add to the water. I had read that super thrive would help with rooting and shock.

I would replace the water and would add a couple of drops of super thrive once a week for a month straight to help out with the roots.

Today, 7/27/24, I decided to transfer my prop into a tropical soil mix that I’ve added orchid bark and horticultural charcoal for even better drainage. I’m going to keep it under the grow light on my book shelf and see how it will do.
