Just got this fella yesterday from Home Depot. He was on sale for 30$, I’ve been wanting one for such a long time so I went for it.
im very new to plant care and I’ve never had a fig before so I really would appreciate the help.
I see these brown spots on some of the leaves but I can’t tell what they are from, just hoping it got a little dry and I can TLC him back to health.
Extra context: Soil was very dry when I brought it home so I watered, and have put it near a sunny window and next to a humidifier. I heard they like that.
I guess my biggest concern is that this is some kind of infection or root rot and it’s doomed lol

Water more! Also make sure it’s thorough. Sometimes when plants are so dry, water will roll right off the top of the soil and out of the pot without penetrating the root ball whatsoever. Kind of like how a dry sponge won’t absorb water at first. So make sure your guy is getting completely thoroughly watered once a week and it will be fine.
