Yesterday I inherited a (from what i was told) 2 year old maple tree. I grew up on a farm, but my knowledge of trees, as opposed to crops, is very little.
Could someone help me identify what kind of maple tree this is? And is it safe to plant this tree this year, in my back yard? I live in the north western Chicago suburbs (zone 5b)
How should I prep it for winter? Should it be kept inside for the time being? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
