Blush / rebloom on a spent monocarpic mother air plant??

It was suggested to me by a couple ppl on the airplants sub to post here bc apparently this is rare?

Here's the sitch:
• Mother bloomed last Aug.
• Mother spits out pup last Sept.
• Pup starts blushing last wknd ~7/20 in prep to bloom.
• Pup, fully blushed, budded Fri 7/26.
• Pup began bloom Sat 7/27 buuut…
• Spent mother also began blushing Fri/Sat & even more daily since. (???)

I can't find any info on any monocarpic mother blooming or a tillandsia even blushing after it bloomed already other than that it does not happen–obv as that's the meaning of monocarpic. Blush coincides w/ bloom so vhat's up vith this?? Is it a fakeout blush? No new leaf damage or temp/light changes occurred to otherwise trigger the mother to blush again let alone w/ such speed. If blooms reemerge somehow from the mother's apical meristem I'll be v confused.

In 1st pic, mother's color today (on her L) looks like what the blooming pup looked like a week ago. Tillandsia brachycaulos blush comes on over a (relatively quick) period of days & buds/blooms just as fast.

Tldr; why is my monocarpic plant acting like it's going to bloom again?
