my first bloom!


my neighbor gave me this compacta when he moved out last month. he had it in a 3rd floor, east facing window for 4 years. never rotated, never fertilized, never repotted, never added fresh soil. even with all of that it is thriving. so many peduncles, a lot of them getting ready to bloom! i'm amazed and in love…especially because i took clippings from this plant when i moved in 3 years ago and still have never had a bloom on mine. so thankful to have the mother now.

    Yeah in that fifth photo I see an old peduncle that has produced blooms many, many times! She’s a bloomer! Congratulations.
