Grafting Plants

Why did this graft sink in so much? Knocked the scion off in one day. How to regraft and make sure this doesn’t happen again?

That sucks. Most people fertilize really well a day or 2 before grafting to keep their stock plump👍

grandiflora are really bad (good?) for this. They will completely curl in and seal themselves up to heal themselves. You gotta do crazy angle cuts to keep it from happening.

I noticed if you put a piece of saran wrap over the top for the first 3 days to keep moisture it helps with this. But also what the other person said, plump it up before a graft also

  4. I find if I put sulfur directly on a fresh cut it will do this.
