We got this tree that flowers in the spring. The flowers are pink and white. The last 2 months we've been noticing a sap like substance on our cars, which are parked under the tree. Upon closer examination, we noticed what looks like mold all over the tree, and leaves are turning dark. Anyone have any idea what this is? Is there something I should do? Sorry if this post violates the rules.

Magnolia scale. Sap is generally called honeydew. Black stuff is called sooty mold. Have someone come look at it/treat it
