What's this plant

WILD STORY

Went to a wedding shower of my husband’s coworker and the host happened to be the “curator” (I can’t remember the title) of the NC Botanical Gardens.

Her house was insane and at the end of the night we had bonded over our love of plants I asked if I could have a couple of tiny cuttings her choice.

She gave me some super funky begonias and then yeeted this whole ass crazy looking plant out of her yard and gave it to me. I think she said it was in the corpse flower/voodoo lily family but not sure on that.

The stem broke in the car so I chopped it off and planted the bulb which has sat dormant for a year and a half and then in just a few weeks has exploded into existence.

WHO IS SHE?!!

Looks like a Konjac to me. Also known as a “voodoo Lilly”. Native to tropical Asia.

    _Amorphophallus konjac_

That’s not actually a stem, that’s just one big leaf

The bloom is the best, being a voodoo lily. Amorphophallus, as others have said.
