No, its roots don’t absorb nutrients, they’re essentially just to anchor the plant in place, they’re epiphytes. but now would be a good time to mount it if you want to display it mounted.

No need. I recently used the roots as an opportunity to take advantage of their true purpose tho: to anchor. I used fishing line to tie a few on a piece of old orchid mount wood so they’d stay upright when I set the wood against the wall outside.
