Tree planted too high?

Planted this Kwanzan Cherry myself back in April (~3.5 months ago), and an arborist told me I absolutely have to replant it. They also refused to replant it for me as it was too ‘high risk’ and they don’t want me to leave a bad review if they do the work and it dies.

Did my best with the pictures as the yard is slightly sloped, but the root flare is between 4 and 5.5 inches above ground level depending where you measure from.

Looking for other opinions before I do anything drastic.

I’d rather see that than the opposite. You can absolutely dig that up and lower it an inch or so without any negative side effects. Or build up the soil around the ball and have a little taper, However, I’d wait until it cools off a bit to do anything and keep it watered well until then. Also, go on treearegood.org and find a better arborist.
