Will it live?


Tree broke in wond storm yesterday. Should I cut it down?

    Should have said “wind storm”. I’m not sure why there is no “edit” button.

    Maybe but it won’t be structurally sound. It looks pretty young so it doesn’t seem to be a danger to anything nearby but I’d definitely replace/remove when you can. Of course wait for a certified arborist for better information.

    Cut it down and hope some shoots pop up

    I will live until that giant wound decays and sends the other half of the tree down. That, or the tree will die due to lost foliage before the decay has a chance to spread.

    I can’t really tell without closer leaf pictures but if that’s a Bradford pear, good riddance!
