Succulent Plants

I swear it was purple.

Im confused, ive had this succulent for quite a while now, im not sure exactly when but 2023 or earlier. I swear it was purple but now its blue. Is this due to lighting or some other reason? Its so pretty!

Probably lighting yes. High light causes sun stress that can lead some plants to turn red. This may have happened to your succulent.

Yeah, succulents have whats called stress coloring. They can look different depending on their environment like frogs in minecraft. Lots of light, cold temperatures and drought will bring out the best colors. Personally, Plenty of light helps the most, while letting them dry out makes the colors more vibrant. The cold brings out especially lots of dark red, but i don’t have that available.

So the nursery probably had better conditions for color.

But just because they don’t color up well, doesn’t mean they are unhealthy. You see that a lot with purple grow lights. The plants will grow but remain mostly green
