A friend was cutting down his yucca in the front yard because it was getting too big and let me take a top cutting home to try and root. I took the lower spines off and put some rooting hormone on it after letting it callous. I potted it in a smallish pot with well draining soil with pumice pine bark and soil. It has been a month and a half with no change other than some of the lower spines starting to yellow and wither away. I can’t find any examples online for propagation by cuttings on these firm yuccas. I think it is Yucca Faxoniana but I’m not 100% sure. Will this survive and grow roots? I’m afraid it may die before it starts but I have no clue. Any insights or help would be greatly appreciated!
