Why are my hydrangeas drooping even after being watered?

Hi! We bought our limelight prime hydrangeas last spring and they bloomed beautifully then. This year, they’ve certainly grown quite a bit, but it looks as though they can’t handle the weight of their blooms. They remain drooping even after water weight dissipates. FWIW, some are even turning slightly pink already which doesn’t typically occur until autumn if I recall.

Any tips/feedback would be helpful! We’re in zone 7b.

I think the flowers are too heavy for the plant, I believe some off season selective cutting would do the trick, tho I’m no expert on this matter, I would recommend looking into it

Only real answer to this is to buy a support cage before they get going.

Just put one in this winter.

Have you been fertilizing a lot? Sometimes going too hard on feeding can mean blooms that the stems can’t support, I think overabundance of nitrogen specifically is the cause.
