Anyone use a Scotts’ 16in’ Cultivator

Hello everyone,

My dad has a piece of land that’s approximately 1,000-1,200sqft and he needs a cultivator. I seen that Scotts has a real nice 16in tiller and wanted to know if anyone has experience using it.

That’s pretty steep for a tiller. Scotts is just a brand, that unit is made my American Mower Corp.

If you can check local postings, finding a used Mantis tiller will not only save you money, be easier to work on, but also a better quality machine for sure.

But one caveat….for 1000sqft. Using a 16″ tiller will take a very long time. They work pretty slowly, and you need to basically walk backwards as it tills in front of you, and if you don’t keep it steady, you wind up with ups and downs…which could be worse than what it is now.

Is this for a lawn project, or garden? If for a lawn, tilling isn’t usually the best idea either…
