Can you help me identify this evil plant? It has taken over large parts of my lawn after St Augustine fried last summer. I think it is either nimblewill or Bermuda. Help me.

It’s crazy how when you actually want Bermuda grass it grows like crap, but when you don’t want it…it acts like Bermuda grass. 😂

If your st Augustine fried, I would just go full Bermuda. Much easier to take care of and requires less water.

That actually looks like the seed of lawn straw, which would actually be wheat or oat. They grow like crazy.

Let’s swap yards. I wanted Bermuda and the St Augustine took over. The St Augustine is so needy. Meanwhile the Bermuda sections are lush and green.

Teardrop shaped leaves are the signature of nimblewill.
To confirm: where the leaves meet the stem, if there’s hairs its bermuda. If no hairs, its not bermuda. In which case it’s almost certainly nimblewill.

I don’t see any of the signature hairs that exist between the stem and the leaves, so I actually don’t think this is Bermuda.
