Unless it’s sealed permanently it will get some of them anyway with eggs travelling through the air, your clothes, etc just like an aquarium will. They won’t really thrive though without algae.
Lake water will speed it up and you might be able to prop their populations up with something like bacter ae if that’s the direction you’re trying to go.
