PP Need a Haircut?

I have 2 beautiful pitcher plants and they've gotten very big. I propagated the second plant from cuttings of the first.

I've noticed that the base of the existing stems are now dying off and looking ratty while the ends look amazing. The base does have new growth coming in though.

How do I keep these guys nice and trim? Do I just cut off the healthy, older growth from the existing stems and repot them? I'm running out of space and I'm sure I can propagate cuttings again, but I just wanted to hear some ideas. Thanks for any help/suggestions!

i am not really sure what you are trying to achieve, the plant looks pretty healthy as it is and it’s a great specimen too.

I wouldn’t touch it personally. Also from woody parts of the stem basals could potentially show up so it’ll look even fuller
