    Some kind of probably hardy banana. They may also be offering protection for it in winter but not sure. The hardy bananas usually don’t produce fruit or edible fruit in colder areas. In my area (zone 7) we have hardy bananas in yards off and on throughout the area. They grow quite well and come back every year.

    Could also be a from related genus but it’s hard to be sure

    Basjoo banana— inedible, grown for making fiber into cloth. Hardy. I’m in the Midwest and I want to plant these in the yard!

    Hardy banana is a thing, just a guess though, they might overwinter a non-hardy one indoors.
