Not bad for some cheap nursery material!


Picked up this 12$ mugo pine because it had a really nice needle size compared to the rest it was laid out with. I wired it and worked on some of the existing deadwood and after noticing it pushing new growth I decided to repot. Once I got the tree out I noticed the roots melded together about 2” below the base before re-flaring out into finer roots. Love finding little surprises like this and what a cool little tree!

    So you styled it and repotted a mugo same year? Bold move, let’s see if it pays off.
