No, it is not compared to any of the corn I’ve grown.

It’s giving you the middle finger due to poor pollination lol

We need to talk about the birds and the bees…

Cob on a cob. This would scare the shit out of Rick Sanchez.

Please take that to a college with an ag research department near you

Oh shit. Be very careful… of the children. I really want to apologize for that.

I’d say you did a fine job growing it. But I’d throw that possessed thing as far away from me as I could.

As someone who has been doing field research in corn all summer, it’s not terribly common, but I’ve seen a few similar. A combination of genetic predisposition and environmental stress. Sometimes, unusually cold or warm weather at an early developmental stage of the ear can lead to some weird effects.

If all the ears of the plant are the same (assuming there’s more than one) that would be more interesting. Looks like pollination was still relatively effective despite the malformation.

Another thing that’s interesting and happens a lot, especially with inbred lines, is you get an ear where the tassel should be. Makes the plant look pretty funky.

I’m literally an ICS, internet corn scientist. I can tell you, with full scholarly accuracy, that is not normal.
