I’ve always just cut it back from where I don’t want it to continue. Maybe not the right way to do it, but anytime I cut back (like on your eves for example) it ends up shooting more runners up and thickening up from the bottom.

I wouldn’t let it crawl up on my house but that’s just my preference! Cut it back a little and it should be fine

Confederate jasmine. You can cut it to the ground and it’ll be right back there next season

Star Jasmine blooms early spring. Trim it and you’ll be fine for next year.
Basically a weed if planted in reasonable Zone for it.
