The roots look great which is a good sign. Touch the black part to see if it is mushy. If it feels like sludge and comes off, it’s rot. It might just be a small layer, which is fine and the plant can easily recover. The issue comes when the full stem rots or all the roots rot and there is no recovery. A little part having some rot, or the end of a stem rotting and falling off but not taking anything with it, all are ok if addressed and stopped from spreading.
