Gigantic Clover

I planted clover and grass (red fescue) last fall over the entire front lawn.
The plan is to use it to affix nitrogen to the soil and then slowly hard/naturescape different areas using fruiting and native bushes trees and flowers.

I’ve been caught off guard by just how MASSIVE this clover is, despite mowing.

Is this “normal” or do I need to mow more aggressively to train it lower?

The clover seed was White Clover – Trifolium Repens. Incredibly high quality, with only clover sprouting. The grass seed was equally as high quality, but with it being so fine, you can’t see it in the photos….but it’s there.

What is with this prehistoric sized clover?
