Red cabbabe jelly stem?


Does anyone know what happened here? Is the cabbage still edible raw as part of a slaw if I just cut this off?

    I’d say eating that is a roll of the dice. Definitely wouldn’t eat it raw.

    Edit: the stem is rotten

    Does it smell bad? If so bacteria, if not fungi. Either or you won’t be able to grow brassica there for a while.
