Progress photo jig

Hey everyone,

I’m curious if anyone here takes progress pictures of their plants? I’m considering a setup to document plant growth over time, particularly during the first few months when the plants are still in tissue culture (TC). Once they reach a certain size, they’ll be relocated to the farm.

I’m thinking about doing something like a time-lapse, but with a twist. Instead of just a single shot, I want to capture progress photos from the top, middle, and bottom of the plant. Since they’ll be in net cups/pots, it should be possible to get a good view of the root growth during the early stages.

Additionally, I’m considering setting up a weighing station using a hanging scale. The idea is to have a platform where I can place the net cup, and then a 180-degree rotating bar with a bearing that allows the camera to swivel around the plant for comprehensive shots.

Does this sound practical? I’d love to hear your thoughts and any suggestions you might have.

Thanks!
