I put this papaya in a small pot around the side of the house and forgot about it. Against all odds it's looking relatively happy and healthy.
I was wanting to transfer it into the ground but am concerned of damaging the existing root system. Is there any way to save this?

Carefully cut and break/peel the pot off, rather than tapping it out like you usually would repot a plant.
Have your new planting hole ready to transfer straight into, give it lots of yummy compost and potash and you’re good to go!
