Plant Propagation

Help me and my monstera please

Fairly new to the plant world.
Rescued a monstera off marketplace. Fairly certain it’s been used to cut and prop small plants from as the main stem is wonky, and the root ball is HUGE!
Was in a pot only 2 inches smaller than this and had to physically snap the pot off as the roots were so compact. Upsized it to its current pot which was the next size up.
The soil is mollys aroid mix, orchid bark and perlite with some soil. Pot is unglazed inside with numerous 1” drainage holes.
The current moss pole is non sense and I have real ones to use once I sort out the situation.

The situation: I hate how high it sits in the pot and how large the existing root ball is for such a smaller plant.

So how can I separate the top half with the aerial roots from the bottom where the newer stem is coming from?

Is this even an option? I just really wish it could look more sensible and appealing.

If the logical option is to leave it as is than I can accept that as well!
