Installed some pavers and planning on using the soil we dug up to fill in between the pavers and transplant some horseherb as well. I am on the east side, soil is quite compact so is very rocky? Any advice on how to break it up aside from jamming the shovel over it? 😅
Also will take any advice on transplanting horseherb too !

Build a sifter out of 1/2 ” hardware cloth.
Work the soil through it and toss anything that is too big or hard
Water is your friend. Put it in a bucket with some, it’ll soften and break down. That or wait for the next rain.
