We are going to DIY some Front Yard Landscaping today! I’m sharing Landscape Lighting Ideas using some solar landscaping lights that I found on Amazon, trimming hedges, mulching the garden beds, and finishing up with some Yard Clean Up. We’ve been working on lots of Outdoor House Projects and Yard Work, trying to prep for Summer. I hope this motivates you to get outside & have fun with your own space! 1. It feels so nice to have this landscaping project checked off of our list. I can’t believe we had those bags of mulch sitting out for over a year, procrastinating getting this done! 😅
We’re also loving having the new landscape lighting! Here are the links to check out all of our solar lights

  2. Hi Megan, when trimming your bushes try putting an old sheet down and the leaves will fall on the sheets and you will have less mess to clean up. I finally tried this last week and it was a winner. Love your channel and flowerbeds look awesome.

  3. Hola muy lindo todo lo que lograron en su jardin 👏👏💪🏡💑 buen trabajo 😊👉 desde argentina 🇦🇷💝💞🤗

  4. Enjoyed watching. Worked in my yard n cleaned poison ivy out of bushes n got it. Think I'll try rubber mulch next year. Had regular here so used it for now. Would be nice not to have to replace every year. Let me know how it's working for you.

  5. Hey friend🎉❤ loving the yard and lights! You could put plants and flowers on the metal seat? Also for summer comfort place a few fans around as well as misters?? Just a few thoughts. Have a blessed weekend❤❤❤

  6. Megan, you and Derek did a great job (like you always do!). It looks beautiful! That black mulch looks so pretty, and the bench is the finishing touch! 😊❤

  7. Have you ever considered putting in some pavers in your front "patio" area? It probably wouldn't be too expensive and be easier on your feet!

  8. Dear Meg, I love you show,

But I always think Why not wear gloves when you work you have to be careful because there are a lot of bacteria nowadays. Kisses and have a good weekend.

  9. Don’t take out the trees Megan I would just add the hydrangeas in the middle of the trees. It would look so beautiful, love the birds in your yard. Nice job on your yard, I love working in the yard.🌺🌿

  10. Hi! I loved your solar lights . Mine were terrible. I got it from Walmart. I will get rid of it. Where did you get that solar lights ? Amazon? Thank you!

  11. We've finally got around to doing some yard work too!! Tomorrow I'm gonna try to get the pressure washing done so we can set up the rest of the patio…It's so exhausting but worth it

  12. Ohh those solar lights looks so cool and pretty! I love how they bc hangs colors. Your front yard looks so nice! & I hear you with how it’s been so hot out lately the humidity makes it worse. & I’m the same way I love Xmas it’s my fav time of year besides Halloween too! I think that idea with the star would be super pretty to do too! Hope you guys have a great week! 😊💜

  13. The rubber mulch will fade and need to be replaced after a few years. Rock, especially River Rock, is what I have and thrilled on how well it looks. Will never have to be replaced. Love it. Arlene

  14. Why don't you and your husband put down a plastic tarp when you are trimming those hedges and bushes, it's much more easier to clean up.

  15. Great video, Megan. Those lights are pretty cool. Your yard is so big. I love it. You don't get lots that big in California. Have a great weekend ❤

  16. That looks like a porch to me. I have a wooden double rocker in my front yard. I don’t have a porch either. But I go out and sit on it sometimes. I need some of the solar lights. But they would just be things for all the kittens to mess up. Maybe I just need a few. I saw you pull up a Mimosa tree. We have them all over. I pull up every one I see. We already have some big ones on the other side of the fence. My mom loved how they looked. And took one back to Ohio. Well, that thing tried to take over her whole backyard. So I think one of my brother in law’s got all of it out. That’s why I recognized it. Now it’s taking all over our yard. But it’s okay, we don’t down past the fence. Too many critters. I know we have a raccoon who lives down there. And I don’t want to run into him. He’s big thing. He’s been eating cat food and treats. Even though it’s not for him. Your yard looks so good. I used to have a nice front yard like that. Now I just have trees and things. But it’s okay. You can’t really see our house from the street and we like it that way.

  17. For your side yard area you should just do some flowers and a bird bath/feeder! 😊 that way you can keep the trees there

  18. Megan, I am bit behind but I finally got see how you transformed your outside landscaping, it looks amazing you and your husband, did fantastic job. 💛

  19. Hey Megan! What an awesome front yard makeover. It looks spectacular. I'm loving the pink tree in the front between the hedge trees. What kind is it? Sending blessings to you and your family.❤

  20. Love the lights. The colour options create so many seasonal ideas for the yard at little cost.❤ Love these outdoor videos ❤

  21. Great job. Everything looks great and great teamwork! I recently watched my neighbor trimming her hedges and she laid a sheet down on the ground underneath before she started cutting (I'm sure a tarp would work just as well). When she was done she just gathered up the sheet with all the clippings wrapped up in it and dumped it into an outdoor waste bag. No raking necessary! I couldn't believe how easy her cleanup was.

  22. Love the lights! Have you considered removing the large bushes at the front? It would allow more light and I think really update the area even more.

  23. You could actually fit like 3 Little Lime hydrangeas in between the arborvitae trees on the side of your house where your galvanized bench is and that would look so good! Also while we are talking planting lol- in the front where your day lilies are, you could plant a perennial salvia like mystic spires or a blue Veronica . They are low maintenance plants like the lilies, come back every year, and that touch of purple would compliment the orangey yellow of your lilies nicely. They bloom most of the summer and would make the area look a little more full. Good job on the refresh! 😊

  24. I’d have to take those 3 bushes out 🤦🏼‍♀️ leave the Japanese maple and planted lower shrubs around there so you can actually see your windows

  25. When we moved into our house, our bushes looked very sparse on the bottom like the ones in the front of your house. We pruned them all the way down to almost the trunk and they came back looking brand new.
