Airplant

When should I remove the baby? +ID request

Hi! So my air plant that I adopted back in march currently has a pup that’s been growing pretty well, but I was wondering if and when I should remove the pup?

I would also appreciate an ID as of the 4 air plants I own this is my favorite looking one.

General consensus is taking off the pup when it’s a third of the size of the parent plant. You can also keep the pup attached and grow a clump!
I personally leave them attached and let them grow together as one family.

Is it a Caput Madusae? Leave it. They will grow 3 x as fast on the parent. Quite often (not this type) airplants will have 3 or 4 pups. I used to take them off, but the ones I left did a lot better. And the mother will die eventually, and if you take all pups, then there’s nothing left.
