Acres of ROSES! | My Heirloom Roses Tour 🌱🌹🪴

Hello Friends!

This past week I had the privilege of touring THE Heirloom Roses! Yes, the Heirloom Roses that is based out of Oregon selling over 900 varieties of our favorite premium, own-root roses.

It was incredibly eye-opening to tour their propagation and growing facility. Robin Jennings (Director of Strategic Partnerships and Marketing) walked us through their vast collection of roses and we chatted favorite climbers, rose trends and what she’s growing in her own garden. And the icing on the cake? Heirloom Roses is offering all of you 20% of your rose purchase during the month of August! Simply use code “HELLO20” at checkout.

Happy planting!
Kate

  1. Thanks for sharing this beautiful tour, Kate! The variety of roses is truly inspiring, and I can't wait to take advantage of that 20% discount. Your insights always make gardening more enjoyable. Happy planting!

  2. So insightful. I never really thought about roses in containers, so it was interesting to know that some have been bred to be happier in pots vs in the ground.

  3. They are the best. This is where my roses came from. Such learning available on their site as well as when you call. The only place to get your roses ❤

  4. Good morning Kate! I do not have much luck in growing roses. I will check out their website and maybe give it a try again 💐 Your tours have been amazing and filled of knowledge ❤

  5. perfect timing!! I already had a rose in my heirloom roses cart and now I get 20 percent off. thank you!!

  6. Hello Kate! I LOVE my Heirloom Roses…! Of all the places I've ordered from, they have survived growing in my (now) zone 9a Central Texas garden. They come healthy and very well packaged. I specifically chose 'Lyda' and 'Sally Holmes' for their single blooms with easy pollen access for bees and the prolific rosehips they'll make in the fall. If only I could keep the current plague of grasshoppers away from eating them before they're able to fully form… ONE DAY!!! And thank you for the kind discount, Robin!

  7. Im in north dakota!! I purchased 3 heirloom roses last year and they look happy! Im setting up next project in the yard and will be getting more roses 🙂

  8. Oh. My. Goodness Kate! I have been wanting to order another 1 or 2 Heirloom Roses! And your discount is perfect. I have planted 2 James Galway climbers this spring. And I ordered a Clair Austin coming on October 1. And I want another complimentary color to put in front of the James Galway. Eeeeekkk! I’m going shopping! Thank you!

  9. Hi Kate, thankyou for taking us on a tour of Heirloom roses!! Love it… Can you believe it, my foray into gardening came through growing roses from stem cutting and propagation 2 years ago. I did not know that there was a term called "own root" 😀… When Robbie mentioned about them and heirloom roses, I was like – heck yes!! I know how to grow such types 😀😀 and of course my passion for roses has spiralled into many now… Last fall I got 2 climbing roses from HR- Joseph's coat and Don Juan and have them on a rusted metal trellis!! My recommendation for zone 9b/Sacramento Hot and dry weather. Would love to see what other folks suggest as good roses

  10. I’m in zone 9a South Alabama. I planted 4 roses 1 year ago and they have done wonderful. They are New Dawn, Lady Banks rose, Cecile Brunner it has grown over 6 ft tall and wide, I also grow roses horizontally, and Peggy Martin is is mostly vertical as I didn’t have the space although I do have her in another spot along a fence. She has grown from a very small plant to over at least 10 ft tall. All these are in full all day sun. I just bought a house days ago in Ohio zone 6 near Columbus (where cultivate was) so I’ll be searching for the best to grow here.

  11. My container garden has some roses. I swore I wouldn’t get any because they attract aphids. I found myself this winter buying roses. I now have 6 rose bushes and I’m struggling with black spot on some, powdery mildew on one, I have mosaic on two of them. They’re just so disease and pest prone. At this point aphids are the least of my worries. I wish I was better at caring for them. They are so high maintenance. BTW, it was so lovely meeting you at Bauman’s last week. I was fan girling for days meeting you, Claudia, and seeing Janey for the second time. You guys are just the best! ❤

  12. Thank you, Kate and Robin! I just ordered two roses and two ranunculus! I can't wait till Oct to add to my garden 🥰
