Awesome!!! Wait- so you started growing that from seed in February?

Please make sure you give it enough calcium cause I didn’t with mine and all the peppers were rotted at the bottom 🙁 It’s called Blossom End Rot. You might already know this but I had to say something because I didn’t want you to be sad if it could’ve been prevented.

Last year I started in March and I didn’t get peppers until September. This year I started in January and it looks like I won’t be getting any until at least September yet again…

I also started my shishito pepper seeds in February (next year I won’t start as early) but I had peppers growing by early July. I haven’t added anything to the soil. I used the coast of Maine soil and my peppers have been doing very very well. I put crushed tums in with my zucchini and that seemed to help with blossom end rot

Peppers are tough to grow imo. But I bought a bunch of different kinds this year and put them in different spots, both in pots and in the ground, thinking by God something is going to grow!

So far, the potted ones are producing more, than in ground. Smaller peppers like snackers, and banana are doing better than the Bell – those look like yours actually.

I started late – June – with small plants from the garden center. I’m in Ohio.

i literally just pulled mine out of the container, so pissed that nothing’s happened. (it’s been only about 3 months, but the leaves grew quite nice and then stopped). i felt bad, so i just put it into a smaller container – the roots were pretty amazing. now I think my patience was just too thin.

You should overwinter it so you have a jumpstart next year 🙂 wonderful job!
