Advice for boulder wall with lots of ivy

Hi folks, I moved into a house last summer that has a long boulder wall/berm separating my lot from my neighbor's. The boulder wall was covered in english ivy when we moved in, so we hacked it back this spring. Of course it's back — I don't mind maintaining it, but I am wondering if i should be concerned about the ivy damaging the wall's integrity over time.

Separately, once we cut the ivy back, it exposed a lot of pretty rock but also exposed bare dirt in between the rocks. And, over the winter, our snow removal service was uh… a little aggressive… which is why some of the bare dirt at ground level is sheared into a vertical face. They also managed to remove 2 boulders from the base. This year, we will have to better mark off the boundary between our driveway and boulder wall.

In any case, what kind of plants should i cultivate here to mask all the ugly bare dirt?
