    Those are called adventitious roots. You can take leaf and stem cuttings and grow clones of the parent plant. Not all plants propagate well from cuttings.

    Plant cells have something called totipotency, which gives each cell the ability perform the actions of any other cell in that organism. It’s what allows propagation and grafting in plants.

  3. Japanese knotweed will do this if you wave it 6’ above a body of water for 13 seconds.
