I’d go for airlayering: cut some slits in the trunk of the small branch a couple inches up from the base, apply rooting hormone (wet it and apply the powder or get the gel version), put some toothpicks in the slits to keep them open, then pack a 4-inch ball of moss around the area and wrap it with plastic wrap. Keep it moist and when you can see roots in the ball, cut the branch off and remove the plastic and toothpicks and plant it.
Note: I’ve only read of doing this so far, haven’t had need to try it. Do more online research. And let us know how it goes!
