Hydroponics

Quiet down water?

Hello, I built a hydroponic system, That is now like a nft/dwc hybrid😅
The water is sitting just touching the sponge that the plant is sitting in.

The first idea was for a nft system but I live in a small apartment and I can't live with the noise of the running water all the time. So tested running the pump only 15 min of very hour, but about 1 month into it, I think I got early signs of root rot.
(Browning of the roots, slower growing plants)
So I then went out and bought myself a air pump, but this made So much noise that I couldn't stand it, so I have concluded that air pump maybe is out of the question?

I'm thinking of making it so that I can quiet down the driping of the water in the tube's so that I can run the pumps 24/7. So the project would end up like a normal nft instead of the now dwc/nft hybrid. But I'm worried this would just end up with the same problem, not enough oxygen for the plants. So then I will be stuck with running the loud air pump again😒

Have anybody used like water chain in tubing or anything like that?
So I'm wondering what you guys would do in my situation?
how loud is your guys air pump?
how large of a air pump do I need? The system is about 50-60 liters of water.

Any help is appreciated!
