Orchids

Did my orchid grow babies instead of flowers?

So after never keeping an orchid alive long term before, I decided to try to keep a couple gifted orchids alive. After finally actually doing some research I think I've got them recovering well enough and I thought I was going to get my first rebloom… I think I might have to wait a little longer though! If these are indeed baby orchids, what do I do / when can I clip them and put them in a new pot?

You have 2 keiki (baby orchid growths) on your flower spikes.  One of them has begun to grow roots (the larger keiki).  Allow them to remain attached to the mother at least until the keiki develops 3 leaves and 3 roots 3 inches long (Rule of 3).  After that you can cut the spike close to the keiki and pot it into its own ventilated orchid pot with bark.  Do some research on YouTube to find videos concerned with keiki care and potting.  Good Luck!
