Do the pups go under the soil?

Getting ready to repot these 2 plants. Does the new growth go under the soil or above the soil line? Also, is cactus/succulent mix ok?

The top 2/3 of the pup should be above the soil, I should think. Just make sure the base of the pup and mother plant, plus roots, are all in the soil, and it should be fine

Trust me when I say these are forgiving about depth. One time someone dumped the pot. I just shoveled it all back in and watered it not caring how it did tbh. It did just fine. Any new shoots will be the right depth.

They would love that soil mix. And the soil depth is important for how much oxygen reaches the roots. Where the plant turns a deeper green is where the soil line should be. Those are the parts that were exposed before and that’s why they’re green.

How many years it takes to root that much? 🙃
