My neighbor had this ancient wisteria in the ground next to their garage that's been regularly hard-pruned every year. In the past I told him if he ever got rid of it, I'd be happy to dig it up.
Well, he dug it up three days ago and didn't tell me, but I noticed and asked about it and he said I was welcome to it. So I hauled it back home, trimmed the roots back even more, cut some weird branching from the top, and plonked it into pumice in a giant grow box. Here's hoping it survives the current heat and upcoming winter…
