African Violets

I’m confused

So, my friend moved, I got her plants. This one was labeled an African violet. I like to think im fairly knowledgeable as to what they look like and their care. Im getting tripped up on this plant. It doesn't have any of the characteristic fuzzy dark leafs but the flowers themselves and the way the crown is formed makes me believe it just may be a variety ive never seen before. In any case, I'm going on the assumption it's a new variety to me. I topped the crown because not only was it crowded the leafs where looking rather rough. I was wondering how bad of an idea that was. The soil was sopping wet, like I was wringing it out like a dish cloth, it had to be sitting in water for weeks. Somehow it has miraculously escaped without any signs of rot. I appreciate any advise and comments,
Thanks everyone ๐Ÿ–ค

I don’t think it’s an African violet at all. Maybe a kalanchoe or sedum. Hard to say.
