Pond update! (Spoiler alert, it’s almost finished)

Hi all!

I thought I’d update you on the pond construction. I am almost finished! After my last update we lined the pond, filled it, and let it sit with the waterfall and pump running for a week. We then moved the fish and plants in last weekend, and since then it’s really started to feel like a real pond. The pond plants were very overgrown, so they have been repotted (with the exception of the reeds, that had to have a severe haircut to fit in the car) and everything seems to be thriving.

I still have to finish hiding the wires and tubes, install the pump box to hide/ tidy all the electrical elements, and add edging and some gravel to cover the remaining bits of liner but the bulk of it is finished. The perennials that are currently on the patio will be planted out into the new border in the autumn (picture 2) and hopefully the grass will recover by next spring. Im not going to lie, it has not fared well.

I’ll update you all once its properly finished and tidy, but thank you again for all your encouragement and the suggestions on how to dig the hole more efficiently.
