  1. 'Comparing apples to apples' as the saying goes 🙂. Thank you Ray and Luke! I have a Granny Smith apple tree with some ailments described, so every bit of this info will be highly useful to me! I have no problem putting in the hard work, my problem is that I hate killing anything, even bugs. But if I want to have apples {yes please} 🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏 then I'll just have to do, what I have to do!

  2. Hello love the channel and all the information u give. I ave planted sweet potatoes for the first time in may. I was told it would be 90 days till I would harvest. I’ve looked on line and it said 90-150 days. I think the kind I have is the bouregard kind. August 11 was 90 days should I go ahead and harvest them? And what would I do next after I dig them up ty?

  3. Great advice, Ray! My apple trees are not looking so good this year, so next year, I will get on a schedule and follow your advice. 🙂 God Bless!

  4. Seems like everyone wants to focus so much on above ground implementations, when plants come built-in with their own defenses. I'd like to hear about the correlation between soil health and pest/disease resistance in plants. Shouldn't that be the starting point?

  5. The weather last winter made our mind up for us……tree got uprooted, we tried to save….nope. Grew for 3 years and not one edible apple.

  6. Thank You Ray!! So happy to get this information and can't wait to try it on our pathetic tree! Wondering if same info would apply to a peach and/or pear tree? TIA

  7. GREAT VIDEO! THANK YOU RAY!!!💗. Ray would Orchard Spray work for grapes? I have brown spot and was going to rip them all up… I have just about given up… what do you think? We rain so much here in Louisiana in the Spring that I am not sure if I can get it on for long enough to do any good. Anyway MR RAY, THANK YOU!!!

  8. Squirrels ate every single one of our beautiful apples. Squirrels are cute but annoying. I wonder what Ray would suggest.

  9. P.S. I used to be 'allergic' to apples for years as a kid and then suddenly in my 40's I wasn't anymore. {Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, this is what I do for myself, so obviously seek your own medical advice from a professional doctor }. I heard that our body changes every 7 years and it is possible to become allergic to something new, or to stop being allergic to something you had been allergic to in the past. This happened to my own mother regarding sunflower seeds, suddenly she couldn't eat them anymore. Something dangerous and deadly such as peanut allergy should be dealt with under a medical doctors supervision.

  10. Thanks for the info Luke! I bought some disease resistant apples bc of my area and the cedar apple rust etc diseases are so rampant here. I also got them in dwarf sizes to help maintain them. I'm so happy you didn't give up! Happy growing!❤❤

  11. 5:28 Please comment and pin the link for that Dr. Bronner's oil! I'm long familiar with their soaps, but I can't find any oils on their website.

  12. How many apple trees did the two of you save with this video?
I love you both. ❤ I live in an apartment but I enjoyed it so much! Maybe one day I'll add to that number myself by showing someone how to do this, right here in Flint Michigan with you! Your show kept my spirits up these past few years.

  13. Question: should the spraying be done after harvest as well? To prevent pests that may overwinter? Thank you, we have such a hard time with fruit trees, including birds helping themselves to whatever fruit we do get.

  14. Some good info – I don’t mean to be nasty but really I see codling moth worms in almost all of your apples😔🤷🏻‍♀

  15. Thank you Ray. My childhood memories are filled with the smell of sulfur on the apple orchard next to my elementary school and home. I now enjoy that smell.
As a new fruit tree grower, I thought that organic meant no spray and no fertilizer. My trees and I thank you for the education. 🍎

  16. SUGGESTION – Could you please create a new blog post indicating all the steps and products you used and the frequency in doing so??? That would not only be helpful to me but plenty of other home apple growers out there! Thanks for your consideration!

  17. Filipino vs American

American: in the U.S only poor people eats apple

Filipino: in philippines only monkeys eat banana

  18. Thank you Ray! We are at the same point of despair with our apples…again! We will try the frequency of the two different spays next season. We had a hot and humid summer here in SE Wisconsin and not only our apple trees are diseased but so are our other vegetables like tomatoes and cucumbers. I think I need to up the fungicide spraying next year if we have another hot humid summer.

  19. I must be lucky. I dont have issues with pests and I never spray. Im ok with small apples as long as I have a good number of them. Plus being diabetic, a smaller apple is probably better for me. Lol

  20. Thank you Ray! Thank you Luke for sharing these tips.
We just planted apple "sticks" I called them 😂 this spring that we ordered online.
They're growing extremely well so I will be bookmarking this video to refer back when they're mature enought to fruit.

  21. That's more apple then tree.
Love keeping up with local wisdom.
We are losing the wisdom of those that got us where some of us are today(I'm not 1 of those since I don't have a living connection to the people of our land) my Dad was killed in 64. His people were Michigander's/Iroquois (Grandmother) I know her English name, that's all. > Paternal Orphan.
