Repot Devil’s Ivy or adjust watering schedule?

So I recently purchased a large form devils lvy from a garden centre. The plant seemed to be thriving and was a decent deal, so bought it home. However, it appears that the soil does not drain well at all. The pot is fairly large (22cm+) and is full to the brim with soil that appears to have no perlite. There are small roots coming out from the drainage holes so it's clearly a well established plant, but l've just watered it with around 1 L and the drainage through the bottom is minimal. I'm attaching pics of the plant but I'm in a dilemma – either repot this (what looks to be very well established) plant into a more draining homemade soil mix (50/50 perlite and the soil that already is in the plant perhaps) or adjust the watering schedule from weekly to biweekly and allow the soil more time to dry through. I do notice a few yellowing leaves and one large leaf developing a dark patch in a corner, but it's throwing out 5-6 new large and healthy leaves. Help!
