Background: My Dianella revoluta (flax lily) plants are approximately a year old and they’ve been growing reasonably well, with good color and a tight, compact structure. I feed them every 3 months with slow release Osmocote pellets, once a month with Powerfeed liquid fertiliser and Seasol. There are no visible signs of pests and the plants roots are strong. The plants are watered 3x week for 15 minutes except for June-August when water restrictions prevent reticulation. The plants are all on the northern and western perimeter of my property. I’m located in Perth, Western Australia.
Issue: Recently the plants have begun to collapse out of their garden beds onto the footpath and lawn. I’ve tried to lift up the collapsed vegetation to no avail. I’ve also pruned several plants to try and remove the flaccid leaves but that hasn’t abated the problem. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to remediate it?
