Grevillea – Is this root rot, fungal or pest?

I’m not sure of the variety of grevillea, but it’s very large and just started showing yellowed leaves that have spots on them. It previously 5-8 years ago split in the wind but recovered. Tips are looking dead. I have now noticed it seems to be disintegrating at the old break and is full of slaters. What is happening? Melbourne, sandy soil, but having other fungal issues in the garden. Any advice?

those holes in the photo look like a kind of borer which would be a real shame.
i have noticed a lot of grevilleas struggling with all the wet weather the last few years, but not so much ones of this kind of size.
my best guess would be borer.
