Started my first compost bin today. The backyard is all shaded so I don't expect anything fast, all part of the journey. Looking forward to having some of my own compost to use in spring gardening. From what I've seen in this subreddit, the next step is to pee on it?

I was nervous starting mine because our HOA doesn’t allow it, had a bunch of scraps in the freezer and saved browns for a month before I dumped it all in my hidden container expecting the smell to give it away. Zero odor all summer long keeping added scraps covered with browns.
I will not be peeing on mine.
